Repeat Prescriptions

Please order by leaving your request at the surgery you attend, or by post, please send a stamped addressed envelope if you require your prescription by return of post.

We also offer an online service where you can make an appointment with a GP, order repeat medication and also view test results online.

To sign up, all you will need to bring is photo ID to the reception desk and we will print you a username and password off.

There is also a downloadable app called 'SystmOnline' for the online services that is compatible with smartphones.

We do not to take orders for repeat prescriptions over the phone, as this can block the phone lines for people that are in need of an appointment.

If you are housebound then other arrangements can be made in order to receive your medication.

Please allow at least 48 hours for repeat prescriptions

Prescription Fees

Help with NHS costs

In England, around 90% of prescription items are dispensed free. This includes exemptions from charging for those on low incomes, such as:

  • those on specific benefits or through the NHS Low Income Scheme
  • those who are age exempt
  • those with certain medical conditions
  • More information is available at NHS Choices

NHS Charges

These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.

  • Prescription (per item): £9.65
  • 12-month prepayment certificate (PPC): £111.60
  • 3-month PPC: £31.25

If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
